- "The Chinese tell the story of an old man..." (Story of the horse) This timeless parable highlights the importance of perspective. Good fortune and misfortune are often intertwined, and focusing on the bigger picture allows for greater equanimity in leadership.
- "I don't like that man. I must get to know him better." —Abraham Lincoln. A powerful reminder to challenge our biases and seek to understand those we disagree with. True leadership requires empathy and a willingness to see different viewpoints.
On Vision & Purpose:
- "Vision is the dream. A company’s true north. It’s what inspires everyone day in and day out. It’s what you constantly need to be aspiring to." (LinkedIn). A clear vision is the bedrock of effective leadership. It provides direction, motivates teams, and serves as a compass in times of uncertainty.
- “Where there is no vision, people perish.” - Proverbs 29:18. This timeless wisdom underscores the critical role of vision in leadership. Without a clear direction, teams can flounder and lose motivation.

On Personal Growth & Mindset:
- “Be so good they can't ignore you.” - Steve Martin. Focus on developing your skills and expertise. Excellence speaks for itself.
- "The one change that has improved my life the most has been to increasingly replace my opinions with curiosity." ~ Aaron Baldassare. Cultivating curiosity and a willingness to learn are essential for growth and development, both personally and professionally.
- "My dad used to ask my brother and me at the dinner table what we had failed at that week,” - Sara B. Embrace failure as a learning opportunity. A growth mindset is essential for leadership success.
- "Happiness is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal, or goal.” - Earl Nightingale. True happiness comes from making progress toward something meaningful. Set goals and celebrate your achievements along the way.
- "You feel truly happy only when you are making progress, step-by-step, toward something that is important to you." - Goal book. This reinforces the importance of setting meaningful goals and tracking your progress. It's about the journey as much as the destination.

On Handling Pressure & Stress:

If senior executives are stressed out, I tell them, “Look, you shouldn’t be stressed out. Figure out what's causing it.
